Who says New york is not like ajegunle

Last year, on one of my trips outside the contry, i visited New York City. I flew from abuja and arrived new york via London. I was in company of hauwa umar and we were on our way to attend the united nations youth leadership summit.

Amongst other things, our itinery had 2 free days and we decided to take a tour of NYC so as to be able to have a feel of the city.

the first day went smoothly. we were at the ground zero where tears sprung to my eyes as i witnessed physically the destruction that took place several years back. till date people are still laying flowers for the lives of innocent people that died at the 9/11 crash.

The second day, we travelled to brooklyn and had to use the subway. We were about using a lift when we discovered that the last lift user apparently defeacated in the lift. It was appalling, the stench was just too much. we had to abandon the lift for the stairs. We kept smiling as we made our way to our next destination.

I said to myself, it is not this bad in nigeria. So such things can happen in Holy new York city

YOU ARE RIGHT
It is true that there are poor people in those country we think are better even in those country crime are more than what we have in Nigeria (ajegunle) but they don't show it to the world , use US for example my brother visited the state and he told me that the crime there is something else but in Nigeria every little thing that happens is on CNN and so on.We should learn to LOVE our country Nigeria.I was born and brought up in AJ, i am proud to say it any where.AJ is a place of Talent.
