Invitation: National youth town hall meeting on vision2020

As part of efforts to strenghten and deepen youth involvement and understanding of the vision2020, e-cube Foundation and the Youth development and Peace network is organising a 1 day National Youth Town Hall meeting on ‘Youth and Vision 2020’.

OBJECTIVE OF THE MEETING

The purpose of this meeting is to bring together youth leaders and stakeholders across Nigeria for a dialogue with the Minister of National Planning and the expert team from the National Planning Commission to present the Vision 2020 plan to the Nigerian youth and to also afford youth leaders the opportunity to ask questions, critique and develop a sense of ownership of the vision.

EXPECTED OUTCOME

The meeting will be termed successful if at the end:

· Nigerian Youth Leaders have a clear understanding of the Vision2020 policy and how it will impact on youth development.

· There is a buy-in into the vision2020 by youth leaders present

· Youth Leaders and the National Planning Commission agree on the need to further include young people in the implementation stage of the vision2020 plan.

· Nigerian Youth Leaders agree on the need to link or harmonise Nigeria’s new National Youth Policy with the Vision 2020 policy
